Hey there, I’m Elle- which is not short for anything but it is long for ‘L’
I'm a Chicago-based artist and graphic designer, working professionally since early 2021. I specialize in black-and-white ink-style portraiture, blending the detail and impact of traditional tattoo techniques onto paper with a simple pen. My goal is to create pieces that carry depth, character, and the essence of what inspired me to bring them to life in the first place
Although I’d always kept my hands busy with something creative, it took me a while to realize I wanted a career in fine arts. But when it happened, it happened fast.
In 2020, I was working as an esthetician at a corporate spa when I stumbled upon an opportunity to work as an assistant and social media manager for a local business owner. One role led to another, which eventually connected me with a photographer—and so on. I fell in love with the visual aspects of these jobs, and through my proposal illustrations, I started landing a few art commission gigs. That was when I knew I should pivot.
When I first shared the idea with my mom, I remember saying, “But it’s ambitious.” She looked me in the eyes and, without hesitation, said, “You are an ambitious girl.” And that was that.
This journey has been a testament to growth, and seeing my art resonate with so many has been an incredible blessing I wouldn’t change for the world.
Mom, you were right. You usually are.
